BLISTER PACK COLLECTION SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
The response for blister pack recycling has been amazing!
However the cost of the Terracycle boxes has risen to $363 per box. We can't keep up with the volume of blister packs being dropped off. Unfortunately, enviro house is not able to continue collection until a funding source becomes available.
You may like to contact your local pharmacy or the company that manufactures the pills you take, or your MP to let them know that this is a problem that requires them to find a solution.

Re: Blister Pack Recycling
Dear Pharmacy staff,
I'm one of your local customers.
There has been a lot of discussion on Zero Waste Facebook pages in Perth about the difficulty with recycling Blister Packs. It makes a lot of sense for our Pharmacies to take back and recycle this waste stream - otherwise it goes to landfill.
This is possible through the TerraCycle Australia recycling program. You purchase the box and that covers the postage and recycling. It can be posted back through Australia Post once it is full. Find out more at: https://zerowasteboxes.terracycle.com.au/collections/zero-waste-boxes/products/kitchen-separation-zero-waste-boxes
There is a cost but once you are signed up you can be the first to subscribe for a free service when it becomes available. This is more likely if pharmacies ask the big pharmaceuticals to fund the recycling of their packaging - the same way many other suppliers do for other waste streams. You can see these free boxes for other waste on the TerraCycle website.
It would be a great point of difference for your stores and people would come in to recycle. Dentists now do it for Oral Care toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes recycling all over Perth.
I would love to know if you would be interested in participating.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
