Sustainable Schools WA - Second East Metro Network Meeting for Teachers

Description

This will be the second meeting of the new East Metro Regional Network Group for Sustainable Schools WA, for any teachers/educators/parents who are interested in Sustainability Education in our schools.

Sustainable Schools Networks around Perth provide an opportunity for educators to meet in their local area, learn skills, access guest speakers on a wide range of topics, exchange ideas, build capacity, troubleshoot and finally engage students in creative learning across our schools.

This meeting will be our second tour of sustainability projects being undertaken in a local school. City of Bayswater representatives attended our meeting at Hillcrest Primary School and we hope to have representatives from the City of Stirling to attend this meeting to discuss support that is available from this local Council.

Rachael Roberts is currently organising these meetings as the Co-ordinator of Environment House in Bayswater and Sustainability Teacher at Hillcrest Primary School, where we recently won Waste Wise School of the Year in 2018.

Our focus is to assist teachers to use environmental sustainability as a creative, hands on and meaningful way to deliver the Australian Curriculum to all year groups. Our school grounds can easily become a free educational resource for enterprise and innovation and bring your community on board with you.
