Environment House runs a wide range of community programs and services. The map shows the breadth of what we do — explore each activity below.

Recycling

Our 24/7 Community Recycling Drop-Off Station helps divert hard-to-recycle items from landfill — from bottle lids and bread tags to pens, corks, sports equipment and more.

The eco shop

Our EcoShop stocks products to help you live more sustainably, including bulk refillable 'Envirocare' cleaning products. Visit us in-store or shop online.

Community workshops

We host around 40 workshops each year, covering topics such as organic waterwise gardening, composting, sustainable living, supporting biodiversity, nature-based crafts, birdlife, recycling, and upcycling. Workshop calendars are released quarterly.

Children's activities

• Little Critters Program: We offer two nature-based playgroup options (Little Critters Garden Play and Little Critters Nature Fun) for children (ages 2–5) running in 4-week sessions during school terms.
• School Holiday Workshops: Engaging and educational activities for older children.
• Education Sessions: Sustainability-focused incursions for Early Learning Centres, schools and community groups (available for a fee).

The EnviroHouse garden

Join our weekly social gardening mornings — grow veggies, care for the chooks, make compost and connect with the community.

Cycling without age

Perth - Bayswater Hub

We offer FREE Trishaw rides for up to two passengers through Riverside Gardens and Baigup Wetlands.

Our Perth – Bayswater Hub was launched thanks to a generous grant from Community Bank Bayswater.

Share and repair

A free monthly community repair event where volunteers do their utmost to fix household items, small electrical appliances, bikes, and clothing. Held on the 1st Saturday of the month from 2 PM – 4 PM.

Electrify Everything

EnviroHouse hosts the Electrify Bayswater project, part of Rewiring Australia. Electrifying your home and transport is the fastest way to cut energy bills and emissions — whether you're a homeowner or a renter. Find out how to make the switch at your own pace.

Sustainable Bayswater

Previously known as Transition Town Bayswater, Sustainable Bayswater is an important community engagement arm of EnviroHouse. The team is behind projects like Electrify Bayswater, Share & Repair, clothing swaps and more — all aimed at increasing sustainability and reducing the effects of climate change.

Tree Love

More and more people are understanding the importance of tree canopy in urban areas for providing habitat and ensuring our cities are more liveable for people too.

Advocacy and campaigns

EnviroHouse advocates on a range of issues such as tree protection, climate action, and responsible cat ownership to preserve nature, cut carbon emissions, and protect wildlife.

Clothes Swap Events

Held quarterly (March, June, September, December). Bring items you no longer wear and swap them for something "new-to-you."

Native plants to residents

Each year, we help distribute over 20,000 subsidised native plants to residents of Bayswater and Bassendean Councils. Tickets go on sale in May, with plant collection in June.

Turtle Trackers

From September to November, volunteers patrol local wetlands within the Bayswater area to protect nesting Snake-necked turtles. Training and equipment are provided.
